and now we go live to the white house, where president bush is signing a new bill into law

"Good morning, and welcome to the white house."
a familiar smirk starts to play across his lips, and the beady eyes shift from left to right. the smirk slowly turns to a bit of a frown as an uncomfortable silence greets the president.

one reporter nudges another, "i think that was supposed to be a joke."

"a joke? why would you..."

"GOOD MORNING, and welcome to the white house!"
after the forced laughter begins, the president opens the smirk into a large grin, and it quickly becomes part of the smug look he wears so often when addressing the public.

the reporter nudges again, "see! i told you!"


I swear i turned on CNN just long enough to see that this morning. i didn't actually SEE the reporters nudging and whispering, but then again, i didn't really have to.
